Autism is a treatable disorder. Children and their families who have been affected by this diagnosis can learn skills that will make each day a day of potential and commitment to learning. Intensive, science-based early intervention, that includes the family, can make the difference of a lifetime.
ABA Services for Children with Special Needs
Skill Acquisition
- Applied behavior analysts can help teach skills that have been difficult to learn in typical settings
- We can identify and help correct problems with motivation
- We identify and use effective reinforcers
- We work to facilitate independence
- We teach, and teach others to teach, functional communication skills
- We teach appropriate peer and social interaction skills
- We can assist caregivers with developing effective instructions, routines and behavior maintenance strategies
Behavior Reduction
- We conduct functional analysis and assessment of problem behaviors specific to each child
- We provide comprehensive recommendations to facilitate behavior change, specific to each child
- How to prevent the problem behavior
- How to respond to the problem behavior
- We provide training for caregivers specific to the child’s needs
- We assist with implementation of our recommendations

ABA Treatment for Children with Autism
Intensive Treatment (30 or more hours per week)
This treatment is based on the needs of the individual child and includes training of the child, the family, the hired team, and related professionals to implement the ABA treatment. Individualized curriculum addresses skills in the areas of:
- Verbal behavior and Communication
- Academic goals
- Social and play skills
- Self help, fine and gross motor skills
Intensive treatment has been shown to be most effective for children under the age of 5. However, older children can benefit from receiving ABA services to address their individual needs as well.
Group Training
A behavior analyst will provide training seminars to groups of 3 or more people with a focus on helping the individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Topics include:
- Functional Analysis and Behavior Management
- Acquisition of Functional Communication Skills
- Peer and Social Interaction Skills
